The WriteTouch service was developed by Addison Health Systems to extend the
capabilities of WritePad and is currently part of the licensing structure in
place for users of the WritePad software. WriteTouch is a service that allows
users of WritePad EMR software to upload health care information forms to the
internet so that a patient can input information about their condition prior to
an appointment/visit.
To use the current features of WriteTouch, a clinic will need the most recent
version of WritePad 6, as well as a license structure or support plan that
allows the use of WriteTouch.
As WriteTouch is a new feature, it is currently performing in
live test trials. Current functionality includes:
-
The ability of a WritePad user to upload screens to the Internet.
-
The ability of a WritePad user to send an email to patients asking that they
visit WriteTouch and complete the online forms.
-
The ability for users (patients) to create accounts and complete forms online.
-
The ability for users (patients) to save an encrypted copy of their WriteTouch
data for later review/use in subsequent WriteTouch sessions.
-
The ability for a clinic to automatically recieve their patients results from
the WriteTouch server.
Ongoing and future development plans are aimed at increasing the ability of a
participating clinic to track their own upload and usage history, as well as
enabling WriteTouch users (patients) in the ownership of their own Personal
Health Record (PHR).
